How to Set up Your Email Account in Outlook 2013

In this article we explain how you can set up a new email account in Outlook 2013.

Before you continue, it is useful to have the following information present:

  • The email address you created on the service panel (example:
  • The name of the mailbox that you want to retrieve (example: mail000)
  • The mailbox password

Create a New Account in Outlook 2013

  1. Start Outlook 2013 and click on 'File
  2. Click on 'Add Account'
  3. Select 'Manual setup or additional server types' and click 'Next'
  4. Select 'POP of IMAP' and click 'Next'
  5. In the next screen you can enter information about your email account. You can use the following information:
    1. User Information:
      1. Enter your name and email address.
    2. Server Information:
      1. Account Type: Select 'IMAP';
      2. Incoming mail server: enter here
      3. Outgoing mail server (SMTP): enter here
    3. Logon Information:
      1. User Name: enter the name of your mailbox here (hyper000)
      2. Password: enter the password of your mailbox here.
  6. Then click 'More Settings'
  7. Then select the 'Outgoing Server' tab
  8. Check the box for 'My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication' and choose the option 'Use the same settings as my incoming mail server
  9. Then click on the tab 'Advanced'
  10. Change the port of the outgoing server from 25 to 587
  11. Select the TLS option as type of encrypted connection.
  12. Click on 'Ok
  13. When you click on 'Close' at this point you are ready to use your email in Outlook 2013!
